About Grid Conquest

Grid Conquest is a retro-styled strategy game inspired by the timeless three-in-a-row format. Place your mark (✕) on a 3×3 grid and form a line of three — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — before the AI (○) does. Three difficulty levels: random Easy, tactical Medium, and unbeatable Hard minimax.

How to Play

1. Choose difficulty: Easy, Medium, or Hard.
2. Click "Start Game" — you play as ✕ and move first.
3. Click any empty square to place your mark.
4. First to get three in a row wins!
5. If all 9 squares fill with no winner, it's a draw.

Controls

Tips & Strategy

• Take the centre: Position 5 connects to 4 winning lines — always grab it first.
• Corners next: Corners connect 3 winning lines each — best second choice.
• Create forks: Set up two winning threats at once. The AI can only block one.
• Hard mode: The minimax AI plays perfectly. Perfect play = draw every time.
