The RealityPopular teardown/durability channel JerryRigEverything's standard bend/durability test caused the review unit to visibly explode on camera — a real, widely covered incident (105 points/25 comments on Hacker News, plus independent coverage from Dexerto and others), not an isolated rumor. This doesn't necessarily mean every unit is unsafe under normal use (durability tests deliberately apply forces well beyond typical daily handling), but a foldable failing catastrophically rather than just cracking is a real, notable data point directly relevant to a device marketed on durability specifically.Less than a year after the OnePlus 15 launched, Bloomberg reported that OnePlus is ceasing consumer phone operations in the US and Europe entirely — a major business retreat, not a rumor. That means anyone buying the OnePlus 15 in those markets is buying into a brand that has already announced it's stepping away from after-sales support, software updates, and future models there.
SHORT ANSWER
Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Google markets the Pixel 10 Pro Fold as its most durable foldable yet, but a review unit exploded on camera during JerryRigEverything's standard durability test — a real, widely covered incident worth knowing about before trusting the durability claims.
OnePlus 15: OnePlus confirmed it is ceasing operations in the US and Europe just months after the OnePlus 15 launched there — a real business risk for anyone buying it in those markets, regardless of the hardware's specs.
