BUYING THE HYPE
▸ HYPE VS REALITY
Forza Horizon 6 is Playground Games' open-world racing game set in a fictionalized representation of Japan, featuring Tokyo as its main city.
The game leaked prior to launch because developers omitted encryption on the Steam preload. Although it debuted on Windows and Xbox Series X/S in May 2026, the PlayStation 5 port was postponed to 2027 to coincide with the first premium expansion.
The provided sources detail security oversight during preload and platform release schedules, but offer insufficient independent critical evaluation of gameplay performance and quality.
This verdict would change if new, credible evidence emerged contradicting the claim "Forza Horizon 6 is set in a fictionalized representation of Japan with Tokyo as the main city." — for example, an independent test or investigation finding the opposite of what's currently confirmed.
