About 8 Ball Pool

8 Ball Pool is the world's most played cue sport. Fifteen numbered balls are racked in a triangle: the seven solids (1–7), the seven stripes (9–15), and the black 8 ball. After the break the table is "open" — whichever group you legally pot first becomes yours. Clear all seven of your group, then pot the 8 ball to win. This version runs real ball physics — elastic collisions, cushion rebound and rolling friction — against a CPU opponent with three difficulty levels.

How to Play

1. Choose a difficulty and press Break.
2. Press and hold anywhere on the table — the cue aims from the cue ball toward your pointer.
3. Hold longer to charge more power, then release to strike.
4. The table starts open. The first group you legally pot becomes yours.
5. Pot one of your own balls to keep shooting. Miss, and the turn passes to the CPU.
6. Clear all seven of your group, then pot the 8 ball to win the rack.

Fouls

• Scratch — potting the cue ball. The cue ball is returned and the turn passes over.
• Wrong ball first — striking the opposing group (or the 8 ball early) before your own.
• No contact — failing to hit any ball at all.
• 8 ball early — potting the black before clearing your group loses the rack instantly.

Controls

Tips & Strategy

• Think about the next shot: potting a ball matters less than where the cue ball finishes. Leave yourself an angle.
• Use the cushions: a ball sitting against a rail can often be banked in rather than cut thin.
• Don't over-hit: maximum power scatters the table and frequently scratches. Controlled pace pots more.
• Clear your problem balls early while you still have easy positions to work from.
• Watch the 8 ball: never leave it blocking your own group, and never pot it early.
