About Gem Match

Gem Match is a neon match-3 puzzle game built in the PixPause arcade style. Swap adjacent gems to align three or more of the same colour in a row or column, then watch the cascade as new gems fall to fill the gaps — sometimes triggering chain reactions worth massive bonus points.

The game features six gem types plus three special power gems: the Row Blaster (created by matching 4 in a row), the Column Blaster (matching 4 in a column), and the ultra-powerful Star Gem (matching 5 or more). Using a power gem clears entire rows, columns, or all gems of a chosen colour in one devastating move.

How to Play

1. Click (or tap) a gem to select it — it will glow with a selection ring.
2. Click an adjacent gem (up, down, left, right) to swap the two.
3. If the swap creates a match of 3 or more, the gems explode and new ones fall from the top.
4. If no match is created, the swap reverses automatically.
5. Reach the score goal before your moves run out to advance to the next level.
6. Each level increases the goal and reduces starting moves — chain combos are essential at higher levels.

Scoring & Power Gems

• Match-3: 30 points per gem (90 total)
• Match-4: 60 points per gem + creates a Row or Column Blaster
• Match-5+: 100 points per gem + creates a Star Gem
• Chain multiplier: Each cascade in the same move multiplies points (×2, ×3, ×4…)
• Row/Column Blaster: Clears the entire row or column — earns 20 pts per gem cleared
• Star Gem: Clears all gems of the swapped colour — earns 25 pts per gem cleared
• Move bonus: Leftover moves ×50 points when level is cleared

Strategy Tips

• Look for bottom matches first: Matches low on the board cause longer cascade chains than matches at the top, generating far more bonus points from the same move.
• Build toward match-4: If you can see a nearly-complete row of 4, spend a move setting it up. The Row Blaster it creates is worth multiple regular matches.
• Save Star Gems for dense boards: A Star Gem on a colour with 8–12 gems present can clear half the board and chain multiple cascades in a single activation.
• Don't panic at high levels: With fewer moves, focus on efficiency — one well-chosen match that triggers a 3× chain is worth far more than three average matches.
